The world’s largest and most powerful infrared telescope has been launched into space! Scientists from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and their colleagues from the European and Canadian space agencies will be the foremost space-science observatory of the next decade.
In celebration of the launch, we brought together Ayesha Mubarak Ali, Visual-Tech Artist and Creative Director of Oshii Brownie with Dr. Tara Ruttley, Space Scientist, TEDx Speaker, and explorer to create an illustrative piece that demonstrates the intersection of science, creativity, Art, and space.
Ayesha M. Ali described the piece in this quote: ‘Through this work, I wanted to highlight the new possibilities and hope for enhanced knowledge that JWST can deliver for all.
The artwork depicts the journey of the telescope from inception to the finalized version. The laying figure symbolizes the potential unraveling of the mysteries which humankind will be able to visualize with help of this telescope.’
